City and Colour - Settle Down cover
Goddamn his voice is awesomesauce. Dallas Green’s take on one of the songs, I have to admit I am thrashing a bit too much lately, by Kimbra.
#songoftheday - Every Time I Die - Typical Miracle
Sums up my mood today..
Sometimes the funnest shows are the ones where you cram 350 people into a bowling alley. Here’s proof in video form! #TypicalMiracle

#songoftheday - Sex Bob-Omb - We are Sex Bob-Omb
Found this on Spotify this morning.
One of the best movie bands. Ever. I’d actually like to see a movie battle of the bands come to think of it. Who else would be in it tho?
#songoftheday - Tenacious D - To Be the Best
Val Kilmer had to die for it to happen, but apparently the D is back.

The official site doesn’t have much info other than another track and a bunch of social media share options, but I did find this:
It’s a big day for Tenacious D, the band made up of comedian/actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The duo announced on their website that a new album, called “Rize of the Fenix,” is due out May 15 and to go along with said new album, they are embarking on a tour.

#songoftheday - Kimbra - Settle Down (Live)
Live at Spotify’s lil area at SXSW - pretty badass.
New Zealand singer-songwriter Kimbra performed a rendition of her song “Settle Down” in the front yard of the Spotify House yesterday, building an elaborate arrangement on her own with the use of samplers and loops. The singer is in for a very busy week at the festival. “I think we’re playing like nine showcases,” she says. “But that’s what the week is all about, just cramming it all in and having a really good experience.”

#songoftheday - The Hives - Tick Tick Boom
This song is kicking my Spotify’s ass at the moment. So good.

#songoftheday - Every Time I Die - Typical Miracle
Goddamn I love this song.

This whole damn album is epic.

Biggie x Lana Del Rey
Something different for today..
In honor of Biggie’s passing 15 years ago on March 9, 1997… I wanted to do a special project. Mick Boogie and I honored the anniversary of his passing with a special project called Unbelievable, which was hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs and exceded 500k downloads online. But to pay tribute this time, I wanted to do something different. Merge music styles. Bridge audiences together in new ways. So I proudly present to you along with the homies from Dope Couture… Lana Del Rey and Notorious Big… Born Ready To Die. The music from Lana’s Born To Die… remixed and resampled. The lyrics from Biggie’s Ready To Die… still timeless after all these years. It’s a perfect marriage… dark and mysterious… soulful and gritty. Lana told Vogue Magazine that Biggie was one of her biggest musical influences… and now… he is her musical collaborator. I present to you… Born Ready To Die.

Mark Lanegan Band - Blue Funeral
Epic voice is epic. Good album is good. 8/10 good infact:
Is it really possible that Mark Lanegan hasn’t already put out an album called Blues Funeral? I mean, shit, that title would work for any of ‘em. Which isn’t to say that the ex-Screaming Trees frontman’s albums all sound the same — far from it — but they pretty much all feel the same: bad. Like, wake-up-in-a-cheap-motel-room-head-aching-pour-me-another-drink bad. In his songs, all hope is always lost, yet we press on anyway, or at least he does.
